This festival is a privileged platform of expression for French arts and a momentum for cultural exchanges, showcasing various artistic fields encompassing cinema, performing arts, visual arts and gastronomy.
This year calls for a special celebration as it marks the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between France and Malaysia.
In conjunction with this, 50 students of Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak Wind Orchestra (SDARWO) and 20 young French students of the Lycée Henri Fouconnier Kuala Lumpur children’s choir will be performing in a concert named 'Saya Sayang Paris’ on the 19th May 2017 at Connexion Nexus Auditorium, Bangsar South.
The orchestra will perform a celebration of music and songs from both countries. From Edith Piaf to Sheila Majid, Sous le ciel de Paris to Seringgit Dua Kupang, they are celebrating their mutual love for music. It will be an evening to nurture the hearts and souls of young talents, the future of both countries.
The woman behind this event, Najwa Halim, was studying music in London, when she visited Paris and fell in love with the French language and culture. A music teacher by profession, she truly believes that music is the best way to engage people to discover each other’s language and culture.
The realization of Saya Sayang Paris! is also made possible, thanks to the support of two corporate leaders from the respective countries, BNP Paribas Malaysia Bhd and Nasim Sdn Bhd.
The doors to the event open from 7:30pm. The tickets are priced from RM65.
