Step 1: Be a fan!
If you own all of the iconic singers albums from Dimensi Baru in 1985 to her compilation album Lagenda XV XX in 2006 and are familiar with all of her live shows, including her landmark solo show at London’s West End, then move on to step 2.
If you don’t know any of them, then now’s you chance to catch up, because Malaysia’s Queen of Jazz will be showcasing songs from her latest album at the exclusive showcase – you certainly won’t want to miss that.
Step 2: Know the cause!
While the showcase is setting up to be entertaining and exotic, it is also aiming to be educational and charitable courtesy of its organising partners Belum Conservation and the Pulau Banding Foundation. The latter is a non-profit organisation that promotes research and eco-tourism through the sustainable development that will receive a portion of the proceeds .
“In 2015 the Malayan tiger was re-classified from 'Endangered' to 'Critically Endangered' within IUCN’s [International Union for Conservation of Nature] Red List of Threatened Species,” says Ahmad Khalif bin Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal, Executive Director of Belum Conservation. “We at Belum Conservation would like to see Belum-Temengor still be in existence not only in our lifetime or our children’s, but for generations to come. This mission of ours can only succeed when more people understand the urgency of why it needs to be protected – starting today.”
Step 3: Make your booking of course!
Taking place on April 29, Belum Rainforest Resort is offering special packages, starting from 2 day, 1 night stays that include accomodation, food, beverages and exclusive access to the showcase. For more information or to make your reservations, visit their official website.
