Another year passing has seen another year of grand and memorable birthday celebrations from some of societies most colourful personalities and their children.

Themed parties were especially frequent, amongst the young and the young at heart. Tunku Azalea ditched last year’s 'Frozen' party for something more ‘Maleficent’ while her cousin (and her parents) Puteri Tahlia Jaafar-Greaves threw a pool party for all her friends.

Liam Naza Nasarudin, at 1-year old may not be old enough to fully appreciate his ‘Wild Wild West’ party, but many of his guests came dressed appropriately and had a thoroughly wild time.

Shirieene Hajamaideen threw a 'Rock Royalty' birthday bash while Datin Winnie Loo got in on themes too with her fancy ‘Hollywood Glam’ party for her 60th birthday. Tan Sri AK Nathan took a step back to the ‘Swinging Sixties’ for his own 60th.

This year also saw Tun Dr Siti Hasmah celebrate her 90th birthday surrounded by generations of her family, while another national matriarch, Queen Elizabeth II reached a similar milestone, that was celebrated ex parte by Malaysians and the British High Commission.

Other memorable parties include Alia and Alexa Abishegam's sweet 16 that had a charitable cause, Ruben and Shaline Gnanalingam's destination birthday, Lee Jim Leng and Vivienne Cheng’s Fendi luncheon and Dato’ Rosemarie Wee’s revival of the 'Wigs & ‘Stache' party.
