Dato' Sri Richard Riot Jaem, Minister of Human Resources Malaysia and HE Rod Smith, the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia

About 1,000 distinguished guests were invited to spend an evening with the Australian High Commission during its Australia Day Reception at the ballroom of KL Convention Centre.

Only the finest produce from Australia were used to create the food served at the dinner, including a sumptuous seafood feast and array of sweets. This includes Australia’s famous lamington cakes, which guests like Tian Chua, Christopher Leong, Tan Sri V Navaratnam and Zairil Khir Johari were seen enjoying.

At the cocktail reception, guests toasted to the health of the ruling monarchs of Australia and Malaysia, after which the KL Children Choir sang the national anthems of both countries
