Ikebana International, a non-profit cultural organisation that fosters international friendship through flowers, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Majestic Hotel.

Club president, Datin Paulene Mu'tamir and members like Dato' Nik Gee SY, Datin Fatimah Yahya and Datin Elizabeth Eapen arrived at the hotel as early as 10am in the morning. Upon the arrival of the VIP of the day, Tuanku Najihah, all in attendance were treated to a hi-tea surrounded by Majestic Hotel's beautiful flowers in the orchid room. Ikebana demonstrations (the art of making flower corsages) commenced with a special appearance by Pascale Meissal from East and West showing new members the proper way to make one.

Small tokens of appreciation were given out to Tuanku Najihah, Yam Gusti Puteri and Yuko Miyagawa, the wife of the ambassador of Japan, before the ceremony closed with the cutting of a beautiful floral-themed cake made for the occasion.
