The New Shanghai Group celebrated its 3rd anniversary with a charity gala dinner lavishly called 'The Extravaganza'. A flamboyant event coordinated to an oriental theme of 1930's Shanghai, it was attended by generous associates of the restaurant group, celebrity guests like Bernie Chan, Belinda Chee and Tung Mei Chin, as well as friends and family of founder and managing director of the New Shanghai Group, Kenneth Ang.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner of New Shanghai Legend's signature dishes whilst being serenaded by songbird, Sonia Lee, before being entertained by an 8-member dance troup inspired by traditional 30's Shanghai cabaret stage shows.

The main objective of the gala dinner, which was to raise funds for underprivilaged kids of the Make-A-Wish Malaysia Foundation, was met with a grand total of RM11,000 raised from wine auctions and ticket sales. The mock cheque was issued to Make-A-Wish Foundation's honorary secretary, Lillian Si.

Ang thanked all his guests for their generosity of contribution and attendance in a heartfelt speech before the evening continued with more wining, dining and merry-making.
