After four months of refurbishment, Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur reopened the doors of the Lemon Garden restaurant on February 24, 2017 and its grand ballroom, on February 28, 2017.
A short list of special guests and VIPs were invited to admire the swanky new surroundings, as well as dig in to a more familiar looking buffet at the Lemon Garden. The ribbon cutting ceremony was officiated by the area general manager himself, Manfred Weber, who was joined by his elated staff .
Four days later, a more exclusive guest list got to witness the reopening of the hotel's grand ballroom. Guests like Dato’ Sri Yap Teiong Choon, Tan Sri Mohd Ariffin Yusuf and Puan Sri Dato’ Seri Molly Low got to leave their 'mark' on pieces of tiles, in a symbolic ceremony before enjoying a banquet dinner - the first official one in the new ballroom.
