The 91st St Patrick's Society Ball was held at the grand ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel KL, proving once again why it is the largest society ball in Asia and the largest annual Irish celebration in the world outside of cities like New York, Boston and Dublin. Guests like Nigel McGonigle, Adam Smith and Nate Bucholz were among the invited guests of the glitzy night, which started off with a traditional Irish folk performance by Folkmen DC who were specially flown in for the occasion. Dinner commenced following a warm welcome by Ireland's ambassador to Malaysia HE Eamon Hickey and the president of the St Patrick's Society of Selangor Des Morgan. Surplus proceeds go to benefit a variety of Malaysian charities like the Beacon Life Training Centre, Home of Peace and the Assunta Palliative Care Centre.
