Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh once again made the country proud as she was recently conferred the “Officier des Arts et des Lettres” award, or 'The Order of Arts and Letters', by the French government. The award, established in 1957, seeks to recognise eminent artists and writers, as well as people who have contributed significantly to furthering the arts in France and throughout the world. Known for her work as the Bond Girl in 1997's ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, ‘Crounching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’, ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ and ‘The Lady’, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh is the first Malaysian to receive the award, which was presented by French Ambassador, His Excellency Christophe Penot.
