The fashion scene was shaken with the news of the passing of local designer Sonny San early Sunday morning to a heart attack.

Considered one of the pioneers within his field, Sonny was best known for his ready-to-wear label Eclipse that was first founded in 1996, and which chic and wearable designs have gone on to make retail expansion in Thailand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, Philippines and Taiwan.

On Instagram, friends of the designer like Datin Dian Lee, Elaine Daly and Celest Thoi posted heartfelt tributes to the man whom they described as incredibly talented and was always spotted with a ready smile.
