Popstar, mother-of-four, fashion designer and now, an Order of the British Empire (OBE) honouree – the world is Victoria Beckham’s for the taking.
Earlier this week, Victoria was awarded the prestigious OBE in recognition for her services to fashion and charity at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Proud husband David Beckham, recipient of an OBE in 2003, was there to witness award acceptance from Prince William.
Of the noble ranks in Britain, the four highest are: Companion of Honour, Knight/Dame, Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
The United Kingdom government classifies OBE recipients as players of “major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.”
With Victoria's phenomenal success in building her eponymous fashion empire and participation in various charitable causes, an esteemed accolade was in due course.
