The 62nd edition of Salone del Mobile officially opened in Milan last Tuesday; here are ten key pieces we have our eye on
In conjunction with Milan Design Week, the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile opened officially last Tuesday in the northern Italian city. This annual design event usually sees the city thronged with visitors and come alive with installations, launches and events.
The fairground at Rho is traditionally the hub for those looking for design, and it didn't disappoint with 1,950 exhibitors from 35 countries, the biennial EuroCucina for the kitchen, and FTK Technology, the International Bathroom Exhibition.
From the temple of design created by Massimiliano Fuksas in Rho to the exciting design districts scattered around Milan, we spotlight ten key pieces launched during Milan Design Week.
1. Flexform Camelot sofa by Antonio Citterio
The timeless appeal of Flexform sofas continues with Antonio Citterio’s latest design for the Italian brand. Named Camelot, the capacious sofa allows for highly-personalised configurations, courtesy of the combinability of modules and the matching of materials.
While its structure of metal supports and a cylindrical bar in wood or cowhide has all the hallmarks of design rigour, its upholstered elements have an appealing and welcoming softness.
