The Carré d'Art Informal Living Room

A dream home for many, the Carré d’Art villa is a hidden gem with its own billiard room, infinity pool and private cinema.

Welcome to Carré d’Art, an exceptionally outstanding villa created by Sterboul, designed with a combination of state-of-the-art technology and contemporary French and British influences. Intriguing and alluring, its name speaks for itself. The name Carré d’Art derives from an iconic contemporary art museum and library in Nimes, France, which is where the lead designer’s family home resides in. Join us on a journey as we explore this futuristic yet classy home. For a further insight, we talk to Ryan Blair, the sales manager for Sterboul, who has become very passionate about design after the creation of Carré d’Art.

Nestled, jewel-like, amidst the surrounding community of homes in Country Heights Damansara, this 20,000 sqft villa is truly an oasis in the city surrounded by lush greenery and impressive views. The unique location offers the luxury of privacy yet provides easy access to KLCC, Ampang, Bangsar and the affluent areas of Petaling Jaya. Similar to the iconic building in France, the exterior of Carré d’Art is clean and sophisticated. However, upon entering the structure, carefully thought-out dramatic designs and sensuous curves will take your breath away. A magnificent spiralling staircase acts as the functioning centrepiece of the house, soaring endlessly as it merges the different levels of Carré d’Art together.

As you glance past the staircase, you will be invited by vast open spaces artfully wrapped by floor-to-ceiling windows. With nearly half an acre of interior space to be utilised, the open space concept creates an intimate ambience, making it the ultimate family home. To the right of the staircase lies the chic dining area surrounded by a Koi fish pond while the living area is just as stylish.

“Every aspect of the design and building of Carré d’Art is dedicated to keeping its environmental footprint not only small, but more like a baby step,” Ryan Blair emphasises. “The orientation of the building and its window placement ensures minimal direct sunlight and air-conditioning. However, when necessary, the central air-conditioning system cools faster, with less noise than conventional units,” he explains further.

This is because the villa uses revolutionary technology, found in the homes of top leaders and celebrities such as Bill Gates and Tan Sri Tony Fernandes. The innovative design using an array of servers allows you to open your front gate with your iPhone or even control your CCTV, alarm system and swimming pool pump from your office using your smartphone. If that isn’t enough, the blinds can also be set to your personal preference while your favourite music streams automatically as soon as you enter one of the countless number of rooms.

The 2,100 sqft Carré d’Art master bedroom suite is over one-third larger than the average detached house in London. It features amazing views with the perfect study area and a large walk-in wardrobe. It is your private retreat within the villa. Adjoining the bedroom is the jaw-dropping master bathroom designed with a custom British-made glass window. By a simple turn of the switch, you are able to frost the window for privacy. Besides that, you can relax in the pampering spa, bathed in natural sunlight, while catching your favourite TV shows on the concealed TV, carefully hidden away as a mirror when not in use.

They say that the heart of every home is the kitchen, which is why Carré d’Art ensures that only quality kitchen appliances and brands such as Miele and Smeg are used. Prepare your morning coffee and breakfast while looking out towards the emerald green views, using the built-in coffee machine and sleek induction hob.

For those who enjoy playing pool, you will love the billiard room, which features a full-sized American pool table. Last but certainly not least, Carré d’Art’s crowning glory is the 2,500 sqft rooftop entertainment deck complete with an infinity pool and a bar. To top it off, elevator access is also available, making it a hotspot for entertaining and hosting memorable parties.

If you are more of a movie buff, then the Carré d’Art cinema room is the go-to place for an intimate movie screening with friends and family. It is your private cinema where admission is free, popcorn is on the house, and where you can take a bathroom break without missing any parts of the show.

Ryan Blair was given a hard task when asked to choose three favourite features of the villa. “That’s a bit like asking me which of my children I like the best! But I’ll try! Of course, the rooftop entertainment deck with its infinity pool and views that go on forever is still one of my favourites. Then, there is the spiral staircase, soaring into the sky, surrounded by a light show of showering optical filaments and not forgetting the fact that with all its opulence and splendour, the actual living spaces blend together, warm and inviting,” Blair replies enthusiastically.

It is clear that this villa possesses extraordinary features, but, we ask him curiously, what is it that truly makes it unique? The answer is that “we know more than just architecture, stone and glass; we know emotion. We know that when it’s your home, it’s personal. We know warmth and intimate spaces even in a 20,000 sqft structure. Sterboul builds family lifestyles and creates memories. That’s our difference,” Blair replies.

Worth around RM20 million, this one-of-a-kind villa by Sterboul is a masterpiece awaiting the right owner. We definitely look forward to more properties from Sterboul in the future.
