Packet racket

At her dinner party, a benevolent socialite was seen giving away money packets to orphans that she had invited for the bash, in addition to her own set of friends. Imagine her horror when a shameless friend of hers came up to her and demanded for a packet as well, in full view of all of her guests.

Freeloader right this way!

A social climber took home more than his share of gifts at a gala dinner. Known for his avarice nature, among the items he claimed were the door gifts of the two guests seated beside him, the floral decorations, the breadbasket and petit four chocolates served at the event. Free is indeed in the eye of the freeloader!

Call me Datin

After her husband was conferred a title by a Sultan, a certain socialite was reportedly so excited to finally be a Datin that she made sure to tell everyone she met about it. Word has it that she refuses to acknowledge anyone who calls her by her name and only responds to those who refer to her by her title.
