South African model Candice Swanepoel has been announced as the new ambassador for French skincare brand Biotherm.
The Victoria's Secret Angel will appear in European and Asian campaigns for the L'Oréal-owned brand, reports Women's Wear Daily (WWD). She will kick off the collaboration by starring in the group's summer 2015 "Blue Therapy" campaign, shot by Gilles Bensimon in St Barths.
The model told the publication her outlook was similar to Biotherm's "because of my love for the ocean and for water."
Biotherm has been teasing the announcement of its newest face for a few days on social media, uploading a series of clues.
The first, published earlier this week, is a picture of Swanepoel with her back to the camera, titled "Clue #1: She flies like an angel." The brand elaborated, saying: " We have a new #skincare ambassador! Someone who shares our philosophy and natural approach on #beauty. A video of the beauty boxing, face partially hidden by her gloves, was then posted the following day, titled "Clue #2: She fights like a boss." As well as working as an Angel, Candice has also modeled for Versace, Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford, in addition to walking the runway for countless high fashion labels. She follows in the footsteps of actress Leighton Meester and supermodel Christy Turlington Burns in stepping up to the plate as ambassador for Biotherm.
