Going against convention for Spring when brands everywhere are releasing lighter varieties of their cult fragrances or dressing them down in more breathable and sweeter outfits to match the season of new life, Valentino Uomo will put on a suit of black this spring.

Symbolising the Italian elegance seen in the brand's fashion collections, the new special edition will be available from March 9.

Since its launch at the start of 2014, the men's fragrance Uomo has embodied the refined style of the Valentino menswear collections. One year later, the flacon is going for a more intense and modern look with a new special edition.

The original flacon, in pyramid-studded transparent glass revealing the amber-coloured liquid, has taken on an opaque and velvety black coat. The spray pump and the metal "Valentino" label -- formerly gold-colored -- have also turned black for this special edition.

Meanwhile, the scent pyramid remains unchanged. Concocted by nose Olivier Polge, Valentino Uomo opens with whiffs of bergamot and myrtle, which give way to middle notes of coffee and gianduja chocolate. White leather and cedar close the fragrance with a touch of animal and woody character.

Valentino Uomo Black Edition will be available from March 9. Price: around €83 (RM345) for 100ml.
