Backpacks are the new "It" bags and we have shortlisted ten designer backpacks from the spring 2014 collections for you to bring back the 90s glamour.

I still remember the raging trend of designer backpacks in the 90s where every cool “It” girl/guy was carrying either the Chanel quilted or Prada nylon backpacks.

But when we entered the new millennia, they were tossed aside and left for dust – until now. I can’t help but notice the rise of these forgotten bags on the runways of Chanel, 3.1 Phillip Lim to Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen for spring/summer 2014 fashion weeks.

With the current “It” crowd thirsting for more than just the round-of-the-mill tote and shoulder bags, many fashion houses are adopting functional and stylish rucksacks into their accessories collection.

Hedi Slimane projects his fascination of the grunge years with a multi zip and strap black rucksack at Saint Laurent that is perfect for the all-black attire lovers.

Another dark approach was seen in Alexander McQueen with a leather lace printed skull backpack where the dark romanticism of the label is perfectly illustrated.

For colourful renditions, you need to look no further than Chanel with its artful spray painted backpack or Just Cavalli that puts a Miami-esque graffiti print to its backpack.
