Jean Paul Gaultier Christmas Tree

The annual 'Sapins de Noël des Créateurs' is back and this year, we see many creative talents designing beautiful Christmas trees for charity including Jean Paul Gaultier and Jeff Koons.

The results of the 19th edition of the 'Sapins de Noël des Créateurs' project went on display in Paris this weekend, and Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the many designers who deisgned a Christmas tree (see above) that will be auctioned off on the coming December 15.

Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs have once again decorated the famed Avenue Montaigne shopping street (which runs off the even more famous Champs-Elysées) with Christmas trees (or Christmas tree-inspired objects, at least) designed by some of the biggest names in fashion.

Contributors this year include Chantal Thomass, Diane Von Furstenberg, Emanuel Ungaro, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Jean-Claude Jitrois, Jean Paul Gaultier avec Oh! by Kopenhagen Fur, Jeff Koons for H&M, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Pierre Hermé, Stella McCartney, Stéphane Rolland and Zahia Dehar.

The trees can be seen by the public during the opening hours of the participating fashion houses on Avenue Montaigne, Rue François, and at the Théatre des Champs-Elysées which is opened every day of the week from 12 PM to 6PM, with the exception of Sunday (December 7 and 14),which is opened from 2PM to 5PM).

These special Christmas trees will then be auctioned off at the Comédie des Champs-Élysées, with the sale livestreamed via the web on Drouot Live. For this year, Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs will continue its support for the Fondation Avec, presided over by Pr. David Khayat, Chief of the oncology department at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris, where all proceeds will benefit the hospital.
