AirAsia uniform by Celest Thoi

AirAsia's ground crew gets a uniform makeover, designed by fashion deisgner Celest Thoi and produced by London manufacturer HPE Clothing.

Started as a challenge from hit reality TV show 'The Apprentice Asia', AirAsia has finally unveiled the new uniform designs for its ground crew, designed exclusively by fashion designer Celest Thoi.

The idea was first sparked when the famed budget airline was featured in 'The Apprentice Asia', a reality TV show. In one of its challenges, the participants were asked to design a new set of stylish uniforms for the airline's staff or also known as the 'AirAsia Allstars'.

The winning design from the challenge was then furthered developed by the talented wedding gown designer Celest Thoi, who was also the mentor of the winning team for the challenge in 'The Apprentice Asia'.

Celest Thoi says, "It was really fast-paced during the filming for 'The Apprentice Asia'. We had to produce 6 sets of uniforms within 20 hours and have them prepped for a runway show. After the show, it took me another 3 months to finalise the designs for AirAsia."

Following the realisation of the design and concept, AirAsia approached London-based manufacturer HPE Clothing to produce the uniforms that abide all standards and regulatory requirements from aviation authorities.
