This season, Parisian Haute Couture designers continued to surprise and delight, offering plenty of spring wardrobe inspiration for the stars ahead of the BAFTAs and Grammy Awards on Sunday, and the 87th Academy Awards on February 22.
What will awards season nominees Keira Knightley, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Marion Cotillard and Taylor Swift be wearing at these glamorous upcoming events? This season is likely to see smaller labels compete with firm red carpet favorites Christian Dior, Elie Saab and Chanel for maximum brand exposure.
This season, one of the top picks is Elie Saab's all black crystallised and embroidered gown, proving all that black is still the new black. Zuhair Murad is also another red carpet favourite and this season, we are enamoured with the deep-V necklines in many of its designs.
Other less known but quite as talented designers like Yiqing Yin also made the list with a feminine twist on masculine tailoring in its recent show in Paris. As a newcomer to the Haute Couture scene, Alexandre Vauthier stunned the crowd with its show-stopping bedazzled gown.
