Dolce & Gabbana for UNICEF

Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana designs a precious one-of-a-kind doll for UNICEF to help raise funds for the children of Darfur.

For the third year in a row, Dolce & Gabbana and UNICEF have joined forces to help the Frimousses de Createurs project raise funds to help the children of Darfur.

The brains behind the Italian label, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have created a one-of-a-kind doll that will be auctioned on the 24th of November during an exclusive event that will take place at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

Hand-painted with care, this specially made resin doll is called Violetta and is inspired by the main character in Verdi's La Traviata. From the released photos, Violetta is seen wearing a large black lace dress with a red satin belt, adorned by a crystal brooch. She also has a gold cross with black stones, a classic traditional Dolce & Gabbana jewel, on the neck.

Along with Dolce & Gabbana, a list of other fashion houses have also agreed to create special dolls for the UNICEF initiative including Chanel, Dior, Elie Saab, Sonia Rykiel and Christian Lacroix.
