Lanvin Fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection

Lanvin's wealth of must-have Fall wardrobe possibilites for fall 2015 include 'city to the desert' capes, patchwork wonders and Renaissance colours.

The new Jeanne Lanvin exhibit at the Palais Galliera in Paris inspired Casablanca-born head designer Alber Elbaz to revisit his Moroccan roots. His trip down memory lane resulted in raw and precious, masculine and feminine silhouettes, adorned with berber stripes and oriental floral brocade.

This season, bling returned to the Lanvin runway after last season's sober 125th anniversary collection. Capes, caps, tunics and trousers were covered with lamé saffron alongside gold pyjamas and a smattering of sequins. Elbaz counterbalanced the glitz with minimalist styling as seen in the collarless and buttonless coats and jackets.

Panne velvet, boiled alpaca, washed silks, real matte python and faux python in glossy lambskin created a stunning patchwork of luxe textures.

Next season's intense Renaissance coloers comprised Lanvin's pigment-rich palette of intense hues of pomegranate, blue ink, cinnamon, deep burgundy, brown, grey and black "baked in the sun".

In addition to a series of slick color-block office wear staples, escapism was the order of the day. Long sharp-edged Tibetan-style blanket coats with trailing tassels offered to take the wearer from "the city to the desert." Brocade, gold cords, passementerie belts and toggle fastenings echoed the collection's oriental direction.

Also premiering next season -- Lanvin's Nomad bag. The 'it bag' in the making comes in several luxurious options. With grained lambskin, black ostrich, ink-colored nubuck calfskin and caramel python, Lanvin-loving fans will be spoiled for choice.
