Fashion house Givenchy has announced they are staging the brand's Spring 2016 show at NYFW in September, following the opening of a New York flagship store in late August.

The French luxury brand Givenchy has announced that it will be staging its Spring/Summer fashion show during NYFW 2016, on September 11, shortly after opening a new flagship store on Madison Avenue, New York.

The brand has recognized the sensitivity surrounding the chosen date. Speaking in an exclusive interview with WWD, Givenchy’s Creative Director Riccardo Tisci emphasised that the show "is going to be a celebration of family and love."

Moving its slot from Paris to New York Fashion Week shows the brand’s desire to reinstate its presence in the city, from which it has been absent since 2006. The runway show will be followed by a party to celebrate the opening of the new store.
