Discover the inspirations behind Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière's third ready-to-wear women's show at the house of Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton has brought its unconventional "Series 2" exhibition to Rome, inviting the public to discover the inspirations behind Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière's third ready-to-wear women's show at the house.

Laid out like a journey through the designer's mind, the exhibition shares Ghesquière's vision and looks at how it will shape the future of Louis Vuitton.

The abstract title is a reference to the Louis Vuitton logo, which was officially patented in 1908 and appeared on the locks and metal closures of its trunks and suitcases and which the designer plucked from the archives upon his arrival at the house.

The exhibition features "Talking Faces", a showcase of the entrance scenography from the house's Spring-Summer 2015 runway presentation. There is also a "Magic Trunk", an homage to the house's beginnings as a luggage designer and the symbol of the House's journey from past to present.

Once opened, the trunk tells the story of the brand's origins and history through holograms. For the Rome leg of the show, a trunk used to store the actress Greta Garbo's shoes has been added to the installation, reports Milenio.com.

A 360-degree projection room focused entirely on the label's Spring-Summer 2015 runway presentation features a continual loop of the show's 48 looks, while backstage photos of the models taken by French photographer Jean-Paul Goude offers a rarely-seen perspective on the event.

An accessories gallery, a poster room and a "Stickers Corridor" displaying the designs for this season's prints in sticker from which visitors can take home with them, complete the spectacle.

The show was first unveiled in LA in February before traveling to Beijing. It is now open to the public in the Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome through June 7.
