Miu Miu Aoyama

Italian high fashion brand Miu Miu has recently unveiled a new project with Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. It is none other than what would be the brand’s Japanese headquarters in Tokyo.

Called Miu Miu Aoyama, the 720metre square building in the Aoyama district of Tokyo is shaped like an overturned box, cleverly standing it out from the other generic buildings around it and inviting consumers to steal a peek inside. It will serve as the cornerstone for the brand's Japanese activities on top of just a retail store.

Fret not if you’re no where near Tokyo to explore this creative new space that is a cute hodgepodge of style and art – the brand has also launched a new microsite where you can have first look virtually.

Videos, photos and walk-throughs of the store are all online at the site here, as are footages from its grand opening, fashion shows and launch party that were graced by a long list of celebrities.

Initial exploration of the site revealed to us that the 2-storey store is furnished with plush arm chairs and glistening glass coffee tables, inviting shoppers to lounge, shop and spend a little while more within the space. Viewers can also go through the fabrics and materials that went into the making of the store.
