Johnny Coca, new creative director of Mulberry

Mulberry headhunts Celine's accessories designer Johnny Coca to take on the position as creative director.

After the departure of Emma Hill, former creative director of Mulberry, the brand has sought out Johnny Coca of Céline to be the new creative director of Mulberry.

Coca, former Céline accessories designer, will be heading the creation of all Mulberry collections including ready-to-wear and accessories. He will be officially joining the company as creative director on 8th July 2015.

Coca says, "I very much look forward to joining Mulberry as its new Creative Director and to leading a new design direction at one of the very best British Brands."

Mulberry has been without a creative director for more than a year since the resignation of Emma Hill. The departure of Hill in September 2013 was followed by another resignation of Bruno Guillon, former CEO of Mulberry, in March 2014.

This is the first step of Mulberry in replacing its empty positions while Chairman of Mulberry, Godfrey Davis, continues to be the acting CEO.

Godfrey Davis says, "We are delighted that Johnny is joining us. He has a wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help us bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry."
