Valerie Ong, Director of KIP Group of Companies

In our new series ‘Society Wish List’, Valerie Ong, Malaysia Tatler August 2013 covergirl, tells us the three things she has on her shopping wish list.

The ever vibrant and sassy Valerie Ong is no stranger to Malaysia's social scene. Known for her impeccable taste in fashion, the Director of KIP Group of Companies has never ceased to amaze us whenever she attends the parties and soirees in town.

Even on a normal working day, you can see this young lady dressed to the nines in colourful outfits with matching jewellery and accessories. When she is not busy building her empire, she can be spotted hunting for new style gems in the city and countries like Australia, France and USA.

Some of her favourite brands include Clover Canyon, Valentino, Alice + Olivia and Elie Saab – a great mix of classy and adventurous brands. However, when it comes to shopping, Valerie prefers doing it alone instead of having her usual entourage of friends.

She says, “I prefer shopping alone because I can make immediate decisions on what to buy. The saying ‘too many cooks spoil the soup’ works the same for this scenario.”

In our new series ‘Society Wish List’, we ask the budding fashionista what she has in mind for her next shopping spree.

Clover Canyon Summer/Prefall 2014 collection
“I love their innovative prints and the lightness of their dresses. Most of the pieces are very loud, but you don't need to worry about matching it with heavy jewellery. Just pair it with a nice pair of heels, and you are good to go.”

Valentino 'Rockstud' T-strap Pumps
"The Rockstud collection is extremely trendy and sassy. It goes perfectly with my bold printed dresses."

Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2014 ready-to-wear collection
"The Elie Saab gowns are absolutely to die for. They always feature intricately embroidered laces and beautiful beads, which I love. These dresses are definitely gem of all brands and head turners for any red carpet occasions."
