Nothing makes a woman look sexier than putting on a tailored tuxedo that exudes power and allure. We highlight some of the power suits in collections from Dior, Viktor & Rolf and Saint Laurent.

Suits and tuxedos have long been associated with being part of a man's wardrobe. However, thanks to the legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent who pushed for change in the 1960s with his iconic 'Le Smoking' suit, it is now an essential part of a woman's wardrobe.

Nothing makes a woman feel more empowered than wearing a tailored suit or tuxedo, if given the right fit and style. From a range of fabrics like silk, wool and tweeds to a variety of silhouettes like skinnies and flares, women are strutting the business district to build an empire of their own.

Instead of only wearing it for work, women now can be seen parading their suits and ties in red carpet events and cocktail parties. Sometimes, they look even better than the gentlemen.

In recent collections, Hedi Slimane has reworked the 'Le Smoking' suit for Saint Laurent to the 80s big shoulder silhouette, paired with a ruffled white shirt and cigarette pants. Over at Viktor & Rolf, the designer duo have oriental sensibility to its tuxedos with the use of the Japanese obi belt.

In the house of Dior, Raf Simons puts his signature peplum silhouette into a suit perspective, while Escada brings the women to the wild side with exotic leopard prints.
