The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) this year saw many new surprises, from an increase in the number of exhibitors to a new façade of the La Cité de la Haute Horlogerie that just got a new facelift.

A number of brands also stirred up some excitement, most vividly among them, Jaeger-LeCoultre, which comes as so surprise since it is a brand always on the forefront of innovation. It has even more reason to make waves since its most iconic design – the Reverso – is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. 

For the occasion, it announced more than just new models – it now has a whole new custom atelier for the Reverso where you can pick and choose exactly how you want yours to look. 

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s have a look at everything that’s new with the Swiss watchmaker as premiered during the watch fair.


Reverso One

Reverso One Réédition; Reverso One Cordonnet; Reverso One Duetto Moon

Women were, without a doubt, at the top of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mind when it premiered the Reverso One collection that is a tribute to femininity. The Reverso One Réédition takes after the perfect Little Black Dress that is a woman’s faithful ally in all situations. The Reverso One Cordonnet is crafted specially to be a playful and expressive piece that combines vintage vibes with a modern touches for the perfect everyday watch. There's also the Reverso One Duetto Moon, a horologically complicated watch endowed with a striking moon phase.

Reverso Classic Duetto

Jaeger-LeCoultre also took the opportunity to honour tradition, revisiting the Reverso Classic timepieces but enhanced with a few updates. It offered the Reverso Classic in 3 different sizes with a blank space on the back so wearers can express their creativity on it whether through engraving or more. It also brought to the table the Reverso Classic Large Duo that comes with an unexpected second timezone dial, complete with a free-swinging oscillating weight. Equally stealing the show was the Reverso Classic Duetto that comes with a double set of hands, one on the front and the other on the back, driven by a single movement. 


 Reverso Tribute

Reverso Tribute Duo and Reverso Tribute Calendar

From that long illustrious 85-year journey also comes the Reverso Tribute, a collection of 2 watches inspired by the original one first created in 1931. Both watches – the Reverso Tribute Duo and Reverso Tribute Calendar – feature the concept of 2 independent faces complete with a day/night indicator. They stand out with ideal proportions, colourful, lightly textured, fine-grained dials, hand-applied hour markers and Dauphine-type hands.


Atelier Reverso

Atelier Reverso

The brand finally unveiled the news that many have been anticipating since a good part of 2015 – its Atelier Reverso. Understanding that no watch will ever by as precious as the one made to each individual’s desires, it introduced the Atelier to do exactly that. Here, you can engrave your Reverso, choose the straps to have it mounted on, opt to set your hour-markers with gems and more. You are granted absolute freedom to explore your creativity as you partake in the adventure of creating your own Reverso, exactly to how you like it.
