MB&F HMX 10th Anniversary watch

The HMX, or the Horological Machine 10,  echoes founder Maximilian Busser’s early aspirations of becoming a car designer, with a design that resembles that of a car engine.

This year sees Geneva-based Swiss luxury watch brand MB&F celebrating 10 illustrious years of being one of the top watch producers that have given birth to increasingly innovative and inventive timepieces, like its LM101 Frost watch

To celebrate the occasion, it has premiered an even more creative invention, the new HMX watch – ‘X’ being the Roman numeral for 10 --  that draws its inspiration from the most recognised supercars in the world.

The HMX, or the Horological Machine 10,  echoes founder Maximilian Busser’s early aspirations of becoming a car designer, with a design that resembles that of a car engine, complete with oil caps on the valve rockers that can be unscrewed during servicing.

Housed within a grade 5 titanium and stainless steel case, is a mechanical movement with automatic winding and a 42-hour power reserve. Time is indicated by means of 2 windows on the side of the case that display hours and minutes that jump.

Adding to the appeal of the limited edition watch is the mechanism of its display – mirror image numerals are printed around the disc, which gets reflected and magnified by 2 triangular sapphire crystal prisms.

The special timepiece will be available in only 20 models of each colour – Lotus Black, Ferrari Red, Bugatti Blue and British Racing Green – and will be priced at $30,000 (around RM112,597).
