The walls of the Astor ballroom in St Regis KL were bathed in a purple glow – the groom’s favourite colour – as a yellow carpet awaited the royal couple.
Dato’ Seri Tengku Baharuddin and To' Puan Seri Nabilah Khan were welcomed with a royal salute, that was preceded by a formal march of men adorned in ceremonial military uniforms, accompanied by bagpipers – as per military tradition.
The couple had wanted an intimate dinner celebration with only the most important people in their lives and as such, only 250 guests from Dubai, Indonesia, London and Pakistan were present for their nuptials.
Dato’ Seri Tengku Baharuddin carefully planned the dinner reception at The St Regis, as well as the akad nikah, which took place at the couple’s home earlier in the day.
The night was marked with timeless love classics, played by a live slow jazz band and humorous speeches from the groom’s family, before singer Anuar Zain surprised the bride and performed a few songs for the couple.
