Borrowing the Japanese word for "paying attention to others", Kikubari at DC Mall is a sake, wine and tapas focused restaurant. They offer a tasting experience of sake and wines (by the glass) curated by their sommerlier team, mixing it up with food that has European and Japanese influences. Find out more here.
Right in time for Merdeka, MALas is a Malaysian-inspired tapas bar at Nexus, Bangsar South. Expect nasi lemak rice balls a la Italian arancini, spiced lala clams, chicken feet and duck rendang to go down with your drink of choice. Checkout their Facebook page for more info.
Situated at Isetan The Japan Store, Touan serves yakitori (grilled skewers) and robatayaki (meats cooked by a slower charcoal fire) with an emphasis on chicken, beef and seafood. The restaurant comes from Tokyo and offers a lively downtown izakaya-styled experience. You can read up more here.
Bite size eggplant parmigiana with tomato sauce and mozzarella to start the meal? Yes, please. Located at DC Mall's rooftop, Nero Nero is a modern Californian-Italian bistro that uses fresh ingredients to serve delicious eats. Click here for more info.
Joy St's Biscoff flavoured gelato sold us in a heartbeat. This new gelatoria in Bangsar sells everyone's favourite Italian dessert (sorry tiramisu) with the goal of putting a smile on your face. With flavours such as watermelon lychee, hojicha and red velvet, with the option to waffle it, we couldn't agree more. See more info here.
