Here's your guide to doughy dreams

Known for its distinctive tangy flavour, rustic crust, and chewy crumb, sourdough bread is a beloved staple for its unique taste, health benefits, and deep-rooted tradition.

Dip ’em into a bowl of soothing roasted tomato soup, garnish it with smashed avocado and scrambled eggs, or smother it with peanut butter. Whichever way you like your toast, nothing quite beats a slice of freshly baked sourdough bread—and it’s good for your gut too!

Whether you prefer to dine-in at a café with a cup of coffee or buy a loaf back to enjoy at your own ease, we’ve compiled a list of bakeries and restaurants in the Klang Valley that serve some of the best sourdoughs in town.

Bray Bakery

Founder Jonathan Leon Lim aimed to make a sourdough loaf suited to the local palate with a thinner crust and tender crumb. Large crevices classical to sourdough are absent, resulting in a surface suited to spreads. A favourite is the rye sourdough with fermented apple and onion.
