Legasea Bakery has acquired the rights to distribute America's favourite cheesecake locally

Born in Beverly Hills, California in the 1950s, The Cheesecake Factory is difficult to summarise if you've not stepped through its gilded doors. Appealing to the masses, the chain restaurant and bakery adheres to a certain aesthetic: grand columns, soaring ceilings and red carpeting give one the impression of having arrived 'somewhere'. Pair this with reasonably priced food in astounding portions—including tall cheesecakes topped with fanciful peaks of whipped cream—and you have yourself an all-American favourite.

TATLER TIP: Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Meghan Trainor and Nicki Minaj frequent TCF, so keep your eyes peeled.

While traveling to the US is out of the question at the moment, Legasea Bakery, a subsidiary under Legasea Food Supplies, provides a direct path to the famous dessert house.

We loved The Cheesecake Factory so much during our travels that we decided to bring it back to Malaysia — good things should be shared!

"Zellent" Low Ping Chuan, "Suki" Cheah Sek Kee, and "Kian" Cheah Jit founded Legasea Bakery specifically to carry The Cheesecake Factory Bakery’s products in Malaysia. "Now that they've tried it, our family and friends know exactly what we’re talking about when we say TCF’s cheesecake is to die for," enthused Zellent.

While Covid-19 threw a spanner in the works for Legasea Bakery's physical store in Sunway Pyramid, the dessert distributor has seen no short flow of traffic on its e-commerce platform.

"Many Malaysians who have had amazing experiences with TCF became our first batch of customers, helping us spread the word," said Zellent. "For that we are extremely grateful."

How do the desserts stay fresh despite being transported from America?. According to Zellent, Legasea Bakery caps the number of cheesecakes per import while placing frequent orders—all the better for customers to enjoy their cakes as close to the production date as possible.
