An Underground Fine Dining Experience In An Undisclosed Venue
Unique in many aspects, this underground experience doesn't require the audience to stay seated for the entire performance. Sommelier Alison Christ and Chef Joeri Timmermans have choreographed the event in such a way that guests move about and mingle. Going from a cocktail bar to a dining room and so forth, diners get to taste five different courses paired with gin cocktails, sake and wine.
A familiar face in the world of wines, Alison Christ mixes business and pleasure on a daily basis.
"In the Underground dinner series, I'll be presenting some of my favourite wines," beams the sommelier. "These include Radford Dale in South Africa, whom I want to support (South African wineries are taking a hard hit this year), Franck Massard, who is a total icon for me, and Champagne Pol Roger, which always brings a big smile to my face."
TATLER TIP: The dinner will be housed in a historic shoplot, and the revelry will continue at a gin bar.
Taking charge of all comestibles is Chef Joeri Timmermans, who was last in Kuala Lumpur for a rare Nakanishi Miyazaki Wagyu showcase for The Oriental Group.
"I love the warmth of Malaysians as well as the diversity of the street food culture here—there is good food on every corner!" enthuses the chef. "This has given me culinary inspiration and I am so excited to cook for Malaysians."
