Boost your street cred with these fun facts about the GlenDronach whisky, made available in Malaysia via Drinks Connexion

1. Whisky & Donuts Suggested Pairing

Cult online community Whisky & Donuts, known for combining two of our favourite comestibles, recommends pairing GlenDronach's 21-year-old Parliament with taro doughnuts from DK's Donuts & Bakery in Santa Monica, California.

"The Parliament 21 is delightfully intense. Rich combinations of earth, dark fruit and wood make this unchill-filtered single malt a hard act to follow," cites the connoisseur of 'hole foods.' "This purple heaven hoop adds the perfect amount of creaminess to the alpha dog dram."

A Spanish-influenced Scottish spirit with an Asian-based donut from the West Coast of America—now that's a melting pot.

2. Women's Lib

Dr Rachel Barrie, also known as @TheLadyBlender on Twitter, was installed as a 'Keeper of the Quaich' in October 2019. The spokesperson for the single malt brand often plays the gracious hostess at GlenDronach pairing dinners and does an excellent job at educating the public about whisky.

3. Forged In Forgue

Home to skilled percussionists such as Dame Evelyn Elizabeth Ann Glennie, noted naturists like Alexander Garden, and other hairier inhabitants (long-haired Highland cattle), the hamlet of Forgue is where GlenDronach Distillery has stood for some two centuries.

Whisky connoisseurs can get familiarised with the sherried single malt by swinging by the GlenDronach Distillery visitor centre, which receives visitors from 10am until 4:30pm daily, festive periods excluded.

4. Home Sweet Distillery

Sherry cask connoisseurs since 1826, 'Guid GlenDronach' was founded by James Allardice, and exchanged hands with investors such as Walter Scott (1847), Captain Charles Grant (1920) and William Teacher & Sons (1960). At the time, it wasn't uncommon for workers and their families to live, eat and sleep on site. Today's staff are less likely to live on the premises itself, although it sure is tempting to take a nap in the Brobdingnagian mash tun.

GlenDronach was served straight and on the rocks at T.Dining's Best Restaurant Awards for 2020, thanks to Drinks Connexion, the sole importer of GlenDronach in Malaysia. The purveyors of luxury spirits and liquors also kept everyone's glasses topped up with gin n' tonics (Bulldog Gin) and Old Fashioned cocktails (Woodford Reserve).
