Tesla recently filed new trademarks to use its branding under restaurant services, hinting at Elon Musk’s potential restaurant concept plans

Billionaire founder of SpaceX and developer of avant-garde cars, Elon Musk, is one step closer to opening a diner. His famed electric car company, Tesla, has recently filed three trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office under the category "Restaurant services, pop-up restaurant services, self-service restaurant services, take-out restaurant services". The application also covers the signature “T” logo, “Tesla” and a stylised version of the brand name for use in the food industry.

This isn’t the first time Tesla has looked at gaining exposure in the restaurant space. Back in 2018, Musk tweeted that he planned to open an “old-school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles.” The year before, Tesla turned a couple of Tesla EV charging stations to offer ready-to-eat food and self-service beverages at selected locations. The company has already tested out lounge areas at select locations including its Kettleman City, California Supercharger station too.

Musk also seemed to confirm the idea in April, when he tweeted: “Major new Supercharger station coming to Santa Monica soon! Hoping to have 50’s diner & 100 best movie clips playing too. Thanks Santa Monica city!”
