In case you missed it: 22 best brunch spots for a lavish treat in Singapore

1. All Things Delicious

“With a name like All Things Delicious, you come to expect this cafe’s offerings to be just that. Thankfully, All Things Delicious delivers. The all-day breakfast menu is a brunch favourite among my girlfriends, with special mention to the shakshouka. The delicious spice-infused stew of peppers and tomatoes topped with poached eggs and creme fraiche is best savoured with the house-made foccacia here.

While the cafe is the perfect brunch spot, its freshly baked goods are the star of the show! We usually leave with a box that includes sticky toffee pudding (a delicate sponge with warm toffee, yes please), mango bombolinis and orange cranberry scones. While the cafe is currently closed for renovations, all the deliciousness is still available for delivery.”

2. Atlas Coffeehouse

“After a morning walk with friends at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, we often find ourselves heading over to Atlas Coffeehouse for our midday pick-me-up. We always order different dishes at every visit, but one mainstay is the summer chicken stew. After walking for an hour, it’s just so comforting to dig into the fork-tender chicken thigh bathed in a piping hot sun-dried tomato cream broth with roasted potatoes and carrots.

It’s worth ordering the coffee, too, made with coffee beans sourced from Ethiopia, El Salvador and Colombia. Have a go at the Cortado, which is equal parts espresso and milk, and is a sure-fire way to give you that much-needed energy boost after a satisfying meal.”

3. The Brewing Ground

“I live rather far from the eastern part of Singapore, but there’s one cafe that I am willing to make the journey for: The Brewing Ground. It was recommended to me by a fellow waffle-loving friend so I eagerly tried it in hopes of lengthening my list of best waffle spots in Singapore. Though I discovered that the waffles here aren’t my favourite—everything else makes up for it.

From the freshly brewed lattes to deliciously simple appetisers such as mentaiko fries, the place is perfect for anyone looking for some decent brunch grub. The best part about this cafe? The portion sizes are extremely generous so it’s a great way to order a variety of dishes and share with your companions. Some highlights on the menu are the grilled cheese sandwich (so indulgent as it contains three types of cheese), garlic butter aglio olio and the breakfast burger.”

4. Pipes by Hattendo

“Tucked in a corner on New Bridge Road lies Pipes by Hattendo. But don’t let its unassuming façade deceive you—its sandos feature soft and fluffy bread made with Hattendo original flour from Nissin seifun in Japan, making sure each sando is perfectly light and not too heavy.

If you’re looking for a premium treat, you can go with premium offerings like the Hokkaido Wagyu beef sando, which is paired expertly with Hamburg sauce and karashi mayo. I love the lemongrass chicken sando for the its Southeast Asian flavours, with the earthy bite of turmeric and the fresh aroma of lemongrass. The coffee here is excellent here too, with a range of beans from almost all the coffee-growing regions of the world.”

5. Daizu Cafe

“This Japanese-inspired cafe is my go-to for delectable brunch fare. The cafe’s cozy ambience is accompanied by an array of dishes to choose from. Some of my favourites are the garlic butter ebi and the chirashi bowls. Apart from their food, I really enjoy their coffee too, as it’s strong and not too milky—just the way I like it. On top of this, the café also has an alfresco pet-friendly area. If you head down on the weekends, you might just catch a pup or two.”

6. Hello Arigato

“While I don’t visit cafes as much as I used to, one of the most memorable cafe experiences I’ve had is at Hello Arigato, along Joo Chiat. The café offers Japanese-inspired brunch fare including a wide selection of sandos.

I can’t resist an indulgent sandwich and Hello Arigato’s gyu sando hits the spot. The sandwich sees a beautiful pairing of rich beefy flavours and caramelised sweet onion jam. Swap the fries with the café’s crisp tater tots that come tossed in an umami-filled shio kombu. The tamago sando is also worth a try, as it comes brimming with creamy egg mayo, fluffy tamagoyaki and a perfectly cooked ajitama egg.”

7. Dough Coffee

“Located in heart of Chijmes, this cafe is the perfect spot to unwind with a coffee in hand, or in my case, an indulgent glass of iced chocolate. The cozy cafe is a great place to catch up with friends over a lavish brunch spread. On top of sharable plates, homemade fresh pastries are available too. Their croissants are one of the best in town, whether it be its classic butter croissant, or its kimchi ham and cheese croissant.”
