Banker2baker’s confectionery wonders have been showcased at the birthday celebrations and weddings of local celebrities and politicians – one of its most recent creations a 5-tiered wedding cake for the wedding of Ally Mukhriz, grand-daughter to the former prime minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

5. The Buttercake Factory

From gravity-defying fondant toppings to iced cakes inspired by Van Gogh's 'The Starry Night' painting, The Buttercake Factory's 'Darling' cakes (meant to feed 2-3 pax) are a hit among fans, as are more gargantuan creations like the 'Anti-Gravity' cakes or the 'Fleur Delacour' strawberry towers.

When she was just 19 years old, Karen Leong was tasked to work on a wedding cake that was 1.6m tall, which took her approximately 3 weeks to complete. 

A baker prodigy with a flair for lavish handcrafted confectionery, Leong’s culinary training when she was still in primary school. Today, her Instagram-worthy cakes, cake pops, cupcakes and sugar cookies at Karen Leong Cake Design leave clients and followers clamouring for more.
