Earlier this week, American media outlet Insider Food released a video on their Facebook page featuring a familiar Malaysian food – the Ramly burger.

The video showed off how the burger was cooked and wrapped in an egg (what is known as "special" here) and a brief interview with the owner, Calvin Leong, of The Malaysian Project.

The group has been reported to cook the popular street snack all over New York festivals, exposing more Americans to the wonders of Malaysian cuisine.

Other items included on their menu include kaya toast and soursop juice, something that hits close to home.

Coming from a country that is credited with the burger, that's saying something.

Malaysian media outlets The Malay Mail has also picked up the story, giving The Malaysian Project some love halfway across the world.
