Mandarin Oriental's Aqua restaurant and bar has started a weekly barbecue night on Saturdays, grilled with an Argentinian flair as prepared by chefs Sebastian Barcudes and Paul Jamrin.
The delicious barbecue spread offers smoky Argentinian-style beef short ribs, coriander chipotle beef brisket, roasted pulled lamb with mint pebre, chimmichurri chicken leg, barramundi with salsa de chiles rojos and grilled prawns with salsa de tomatillos. And those are just the highlights.
The meats are masterfully cooked and imbued with a pleasant smoky aroma that is further accentuated on the palate by four homemade sauces provided, with our favourites being the pineapple barbecue sauce and kimuchi no moto ketchup.
To complete the experience, Brazilian barbecue beans, mushroom stew, grilled vegetables, baked potatoes with condiments and corn served in the husk all serve as fine sides to their meaty companions. For those who want the full experience, apple raspberry crumble with vanilla ice cream ends the meal on a high note.
