Meet Samuel Ng, the dynamic and confident mixologist who has just been named regional ambassador of Monkey Shoulder for South East Asia. Ng is a celebrated mixologist who has held various positions in the hospitality industry throughout his 17-year career. Prior to taking on the role as Monkey Shoulder's brand ambassador, Ng was bartender and general manager at The Black Pearl, an internationally acclaimed Australian cocktail bar.
As a bartender, I love playing around and experimenting with new cocktail mixes and unexpected flavour combinations, so Monkey Shoulder’s playful brand persona as well as their commitment to the unconventional has always been something that I have admired.
As the face of the brand, Ng is responsible for bringing Monkey Shoulder’s story and mischievous attitude to life across Malaysia. While Malaysia has matured into a strong single malt whisky market over the years, Monkey Shoulder has the perfect mix to attract both seasoned whisky drinkers as well as a younger audience.

Mamie Taylor Cocktail Recipe
- 45ml Monkey Shoulder
- 15ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- Ginger beer
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker well. Strain into a tall glass full of ice. Top with ginger beer (ginger ale is ok too, but beer is tastier!). Garnish with an orange slice.
