After collaborating for more than a decade, the Six Pillars odyssey, an exclusive series of limited edition decanters by The Macallan and French master crystal maker Lalique, has reached a grand finale in the form of The Legacy Collection.

Listed in Sotheby’s “Finest & Rarest Wines and The Macallan” auction in Hong Kong on the 2nd of April, the exclusive collection containing the rarest whiskies from the Scottish whisky maker sold for an astonishing US$993,00 (RM4.4 million).

The collection comes in a bespoke natural ebony cabinet, holding six Macallan fine and rare miniatures, two from each of the 1937, 1938 and 1939 vintages, years that signify the zenith of Lalique’s contribution during the French Art Deco period.

Six pairs of special glasses crafted to commemorate this unique partnership, each serial numbered, as well as autographs of the masters behind the collection are also included. The buyer also has the option to have their own name engraved in the cabinet as well for that extra layer of luxury.

All proceeds were donated to Hong Kong-based and other Asian charities.
