The Macallan's anticipated limited edition bottle series is back again with the Edition No 4, a new whisky embodying the craftsmanship and design of the whisky maker's celebrated new distillery.

The fourth and latest release in the "edition series" highlights the whisky making process, drawing particular attention to the interaction between the distillery's use of exceptional oak casks and the spirit matured in these casks.

To shape the Edition No 4's modern flavour profile, American and European oak casks were used to create the whisky's distinct tastes.

These casks are acknowledged as the single greatest contributor to the high quality, natural colours, aromas and flavours of this new whisky, which are bold yet elegant on the palate, despite having an abv of 48.4 per cent.

With a handsome new bottle housing a spirit with the dark colour of burnished copper, the Edition No 4 is a uniquely accessible whisky to both newcomers and seasoned fans alike, thanks to sweet toffee apple notes, bittersweet orange zest and a delightful taste of nutmeg, wood spices and vanilla.

More than 500 guests attended the launch at Infinite Studios in Singapore, with the event featuring a medley of engaging sections for guests to immerse themselves into getting to know the new whisky better.

The experience began with guests being treated to a virtual tour of the The Macallan's new distillery before being able to enter the specialised pop-up bar featuring the Edition No 4.

The pop-up bar made for the new bottled had an impressive hanging curved roof that took inspirational cues from the undulating timber roof structure of the new distillery.

Adjacent to the bar on the right, guests were also treated to a kinetic aerial installation containing Edition No 4 bottles nestled in teardrop shaped flasks.

Famous Singaporean pastry chef Janice Wong also created a large-scale edible art installation that was inspired by the natural colour wheel.

The installation playfully featured over a thousand whisky gummy treats, ranging in flavour and taste depending on its colour and strength of the whisky used.

Those interested in picking up a bottle can do so at selected retailers from today onwards.
