The writer barely made it . . . The joy of winning is short-lived however as the fiery heat kicked in almost immediately after and lingered for up to an hour.

Cold naturally follows heat, as evidenced by Gastro Sentral's Brain Freeze Challenge. Request and relish a bowl of Ais Batu Campur, ABC or ais kacang at the all-day dining restaurant from now until the end of June 2019; if your spoon scrapes the bottom of the bowl in 30 minutes or less, dessert is on the house!

But first, consider the following facts: each concoction weighs 3.5 kilograms in total and those who fail to finish will be asked to fork out RM88 each. Patrons who prefer to partake of the dessert at their own pace need only pay RM100 (sharing is permissible).

Conconcted by chef de cuisine Sazli Nazim Ismail and his culinary team, Gastro Sentral's colossal bowl of ABC is steeped in evaporated milk and rose syrup and served with red beans, grass jelly, gelatin cubes, and sweet corn. Last but not least, the whole lot is crowned with a scoop of ice cream.
