Barbie’s 60th Anniversary celebration kicked off in Malaysia at the iconic KL Tower, lit up in Barbie’s signature pink earlier this week in a delightfully upbeat party graced by officials from Tourism Malaysia and Mattel Southeast Asia together with inspiring female industry leaders like Prof Dr Mazlan Othman, Datin Winnie Loo, Datin Vivy Yusof, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim and Amber Chia. In line with Barbie’s multi-year #YouCanBeAnything campaign to encourage girls around the world, the pink party featured inspiring words by Marketing Manager for Mattel Southeast Asia Christine Chan, Menara Kuala Lumpur CEO Datuk Rozlan Mohamad and of course, the female guests of honour. A fashion show followed, featuring 30 little girls from the Amber Chia Academy and 6 adult models from Limkokwing University who collectively presented 66 limited edition Barbie dolls styled by the Limkokwing Fashion Club and A Cut Above Academy. To end the night on a sweet note, renowned cake designer Karen Leong led a cake-cutting ceremony featuring a specially-designed Barbie 60th Anniversary cake.
