Veteran photographer Bonnie Yap made her maiden journey to the Arctic in August last year to explore the tundra icescapes and to spot polar bears in their natural habitat. What she photographed there turned out to be more than she expected, so much so that she decided to sell the prints as an awareness to mankind of the dangers that planet Earth is facing with increasingly melting ice caps.

The "Jewel of the Arctic" exhibition showcased all her photographs from her trip with the proceeds from its sales going to Assunta Hospital's Social Welfare Outpatient Programme for children. Guests like Datuk Kelvin Tan, Dato' Simon Foong,  Dato Yeoh Soo Min were among those spotted that night admiring Yap's works.

Everyone in attendance was then ushered upstairs to have a small get-together session following the exhibition.
