Celebrating Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia's diverse and dynamic artistic culture, last weekend's Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur 2019 kicked off with a dinner celebration at the whiskey lounge of Marini's on 57. Hosted by founder Datin Shalini Ganendra and her husband Dennis Ganendra, the guest list was a veritable who's who of the arts scene including this year's ten luminaries including Dr Adele Tan from National Art Gallery Singapore, Malaysian artist Ahmad Fuad Osman, independent Taiwanese curator Biung Ismahasn, award-winning designer Edric Ong, and Karin G. Oen from NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore. Held from Nov 15 - 17, the Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur showcased not just the best art from Malaysia but also workshops and tours for a culturally immersive weekend.
