From a tin mining settlement to a site for a uniquely designed boutique hotel - Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur opened its doors with a grand street party.

Malaysia's second Autograph Collection hotel sits on the site of YTL Corporation's first office, and  the corporation was represented by Tan Sri Francis Yeoh and Dato' Mark Yeoh. 

Not withstanding the rainy weather, the evening was everything a celebration should be, with plenty of good food, music from the UK band Shakatak and a firework display that lit up the sky, announcing Stripes' arrival to the entire city.
