Credit Suisse's Francois Monnet reveals more details about the inaugural prize for Gen.T honourees

Generation T and Credit Suisse have teamed up to launch the first-ever Social Impact Awards.

The Awards will commemorate Gen.T honourees, recognising young leaders who have made significant contributions to Asian society in the fields of social impact, sustainability or innovation.

The awards honour 10 winners each year. This year two sets of winners will be unveiled, after the announcement of 2019’s awardees was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. They are selected by an expert judging panel of Generation T and Credit Suisse executives.

"This is an award to acknowledge things which are core to the competencies and values of Credit Suisse as well as, of course, Gen.T," says Monnet. "We are looking for movers and shakers who actually can have a disruptive view of the world and contribute to change of societies."

In 2020, says Monnet, these awards are more important than ever: “As we begin to move towards a post-Covid-19 era, we have the unique opportunity to come together to reimagine our future in order for us to thrive for a better world.

"I believe they have to be totally aspirational, but also bold and determined," says Monnet of the quality he believes all the Social Impact awardees must possess. "These entrepreneurs care about the world they live in, and the people they meet. And caring is beautiful. Caring is self-rewarding."

The winners of the Awards will be announced at Gen.T Stream, a virtual event featuring world-class speakers, on October 23.

Details of Gen.T Stream will be revealed soon. Check our Events page for updates.
